Tattoo Collage

Been tattooing on weekends for a few months now, and though many are still works in progress as I get the outlines done first and all healed up before hitting em with colour/greywash in most cases, its going really well. Having a blast picking it all up!
If you're keen on getting awesome tattoos all custom drawn up from scratch email me on barra011@hotmail.com or come down to the studio and ask for Ryan - INK KINGS at 138 Main Rd. McLaren Vale 5171, (08) 8323 7854. I'll be charging $100/hr for a while as well.
Peace.

Graffiti Style T-shirt

Been working on a graff styled tshirt/hoodie design for the tattoo studio. Thinking of having the graff on the back nice n large and the girl - in colour - on the left side of the chest on the front... Hopefully these will get made in the near future!

Hey Stranger

"Publish Post" button finally works...

Wow, it's May already! Ahhh it's getting cooler and the Autumn leaves are out in full colour. It's been a while since I've been on here to update everyone on what I've been upto.

I recently started a tattooing apprenticeship in an awesome modern studio with a great bunch of people, and have been working on jobs here and there such as business card designs, custom tattoo designs and tshirt designs for the tattoo studio. I'm already upto my 20th tattoo on clients (no I didn't start practicing on pig-skin - actually it was a couple mangoes and a pear haha) and it's going really well.

I'll start uploading pics of all this over the next couple of weeks. Also on my drawing desk is the start of the designs for next years Schutzenfest 2012, which I'll be doing the designs for the merchandise and all the posters/fliers etc. Should be a lot of fun again!

WWII Nose Art

I was recently up in Darwin N.T. and visited the WWII Air Museum. Along with the gigantic B-52 bomber, the hanger full of awesome historic machines of the air got me inspired to create some artwork under the theme.

This is the first off the rack of a few pieces that will eventually be mosaic-ed into one large piece! Done in pen & Prismacolor pencils, Photoshop background.

If you're interested in buying this one as a large canvas print/5mm MDF board-mounted print, contact me at barra011@hotmail.com

Fringe 2011 - Hot Out The Oven exhibit

This year for the Fringe Festival, myself and three other awesome illustrators - Leigh Harder, Chloe McGregor and Gemma Buratto - are exhibiting over two locations in Adelaide. The first location is the Metropolitan Hotel, 46 Grote St. from the 15th Feb - 13th March. The second being at the Dog & Duck, 125 Hindley St. from the 18th Feb - 12th March.

Opening night will be on the 2nd March from 7pm at the Dog & Duck and established illustrator and university lecturer, Geert Van Keulen, will be taking the opening speech.

At the Dog & Duck I'll have four pieces wrapped on large canvases, and there will be 3 pieces mounted on board at the Metro. See above images for cropped previews...

Come and check it out/buy some awesome artwork for that blank wall of yours! Get in touch with me if you are interested in a custom piece of art on large canvas/framed/mounted on 5mm mdf board.

Snow Scarf

A pretty fast illustration that is linked to a personal graphic novel story I'm creating. Main lines sketched by hand then put into photoshop for colour.
